Conclusion of the Acquedotto del Buceto (#1)

The aqueduct, built in the seventeenth century by the then Bishop of Ischia took the water in the hilly area of Fiaiano, today in the municipality of Barano, and took her to the village of celsa in the present district of Ischia Ponte.
The one in the photo is the end of what remains of the aqueduct at the surface, while the part that came to Ischia Ponte via tunnel is abandoned or destroyed. (Map)

L'acquedotto,costruito nel XVII secolo per volere dell'allora Vescovo di Ischia prendeva l'acqua nella zona collinare di Fiaiano, oggi nel comune di Barano, e la portava fino al borgo di celsa nell'attuale quartiere di Ischia Ponte.
Quella nella foto è l'estremità di ciò che resta dell'acquedotto in superfice, mentre la parte che giungeva ad Ischia Ponte via tunnel è abbandonata o distrutta. (mappa)
